Topic: Managing a Business

Do you want to save time, do better with scheduling reminders, deadlines, and build better links amongst your apps? If so, learning how to automate repetitive tasks and reminders may be for you.

FEE: $10

n this beginner’s workshop, Mandy Thompson, co-founder and CEO of Digital Reach Online Solutions, will introduce you to a codeless solution using Zapier, a handy software for connecting tools, systems and apps. It is similar to a virtual assistant, for automating tasks, storing data, building task lists, and reminding you of important messages, deadlines, and more. No-coding is required.

During this session we will:

  • Define the various aspects of a Zap (vocabulary is crucial to learning)
  • Learn how Zaps work - making it easy for you to imagine how to use the tool
  • Connect applications via authentication or API keys
  • Build the 5 most common Zaps for small business owners
  • Create a zap “live”

Some of the automations we will build:

  • Automatically create a Trello card, Asana or Monday task, or Google Sheet row when you receive a new order via Shopify or Square
  • Create sales receipts, estimates, or invoices in QuickBooks when you receive a payment via Square, Stripe, or Shopify
  • Automatically update your customers of project progress when a Google Sheet row, Trello card, or Asana/Monday task is updated
  • We will take requests for “how to” build the automations YOU are most interested in
