Topic: Managing a Business

Did the holidays spark burning questions about the business-of-arts . . . or the arts itself?

Perhaps you are in need of inspiration and connection to get back on track? Or maybe you are just curious . . .

WESST has revamped the Artist Think Tank series by bringing in guest artists to bounce ideas off of and topics to get the conversation started. We’ll let you take it from there . . .

We’re really excited and honored to introduce Michelle Sisneros, a Santa Clara/Navajo/Laguna Indigenous woman, who will tackle the theme of "The Art of Creating Art".

In Michelle's words, I was born to create. In my world I have found that in order to survive on an artist's salary I must understand the discipline it takes to learn the business aspect of my professional career as well as incorporating various levels of products to my art business. This has been over 40 years in the making. It can become stagnant, having the will to reinvent myself by following my passion for fashion design and textile art has given me an incredible second career and has enriched my painting life immensely!

WESST has created a Zoom space for artists like yourselves to ask questions or generate a conversation about topics in the business-of-arts. This is your chance to learn, share, and connect with your peers, at all levels of expertise, from across New Mexico.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals. Please notify Roseanna Perea, rperea@wesst.org when you register for the class, or no later than 24 hours prior to your class, so that WESST can make sure necessary accommodations are available.
