Wed, Feb 11 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Topic: Marketing and Sales

Product descriptions are more than a summary of what you’re selling. Written well, they can boost your business' conversion rate and increase the perceived value of your products. The right words can even make customers happy to pay more.

Beyond a list of product details or features, a good product description tells a story about what makes that product special and unique, with the goal of persuading customers to make a purchase. Product descriptions can vary in length, style, and format.

In this class we will look at how you can create descriptions that capture your product’s value with to following concepts:

  • Speak to your ideal customer
  • Highlight benefits, not features
  • Avoid generic phrases
  • Support superlatives with facts
  • Feed customers’ imagination
  • Tell your product’s story
  • Use sensory language
  • Add social proof
  • Make descriptions scannable
  • Set and measure KPIs and data analytics

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals.
