Mon, Jan 27 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Topic: Start-up Assistance

There are many different variables that need to be considered when starting a new business, and the type of entity you form and the way you structure your business can be one of the most important. Use our tool to compare different business formation options and help you determine which one will suit your business best. For example: how many people will have ownership in your company, or do you have significant personal assets to protect?
Each business formation of ownership has advantages, disadvantages, risks, and rewards that can affect the business’s chances for long-term success.

The Farmington Women’s Business Center invites you to attend this virtual class to learn about some common organizational types (also called “legal structures”). In this class we will introduce you to the most common types of business formations.

  • Sole proprietorship
  • Franchise
  • Limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships (LLP)
  • Limited liability company (LLC)
  • C corporation
  • S corporation

This class is designed for individuals that are in the early stages of business development and is an introductory class.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals. Please notify Janelle Henry at 505-566-3715 or jhenry@wesst.org when you register for the class, or no later than 24 hours prior to your class, so that WESST can make sure necessary accommodations are available.
