Topic: Managing a Business

Join Farmington Women's Business Center in this training delivered by Change Labs' instructor Heather Fleming.

What does it mean to register your business on the Navajo Nation and when should you do it? In this workshop, we’ll demystify the process of registering your business with Navajo Business Regulatory and the Navajo Tax Commission. We’ll discuss which types of businesses are required to register with each entity, and how to go forward if you’re already registered in New Mexico, Arizona, or Utah. We’ll also show you how to use Build Navajo, a simple and free platform created by Change Labs in Tuba City, to help Navajo artisans, vendors, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurs to understand business registration, business site leasing, and Navajo Business Certification.

Change Labs is a Native-led 501c3 on the Navajo Nation creating pathways for Navajo and Hopi entrepreneurs to strengthen their business skills and provide opportunities for business growth. We provide immersive business incubation support, safe and modern coworking space, and a first of its kind microloan program. In addition to these services, we provide our community with workshops & events to build their peer networks and develop their ability to start and grow successful businesses on Native lands.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals. Please notify Holly Patterson at hpatterson@wesst.org when you register for the class, or no later than 24 hours prior to your class, so that WESST can make sure necessary accommodations are available. All programs and services are provided to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.
