Santa Fe: Authentic Storytelling in New Mexico
Every business has a story. Learn how to tell yours in a way that feels authentic, connects with your audience, and reflects the unique cultural landscape of New Mexico. Through real-world examples, interactive discussion, and a hands-on storytelling activity, participants will explore what makes a compelling narrative and begin crafting their own business or founder story.
By the end of this interactive training, participants will:
- Understand the key elements that make a story engaging and memorable.
- Explore how New Mexico’s culture and sense of place can authentically shape a business story.
- Learn how to navigate cultural storytelling thoughtfully and avoid stereotypes.
- Review real-world storytelling examples and discuss what makes them effective.
- Participate in a hands-on activity to begin crafting their own founder or business story.
- Leave with actionable next steps for strengthening their brand storytelling.

Speaker(s): Eric Draper, Creative Industry Expert & Business Owner Eric Draper served as President George W Bush's chief White House photographer for the entire eight years of his presidency. Draper was named Special Assistant to the President, and is the first White House photographer to be named a commissioned officer to a U.S. president. Prior to joining the White House, Draper was West Regional Enterprise Photographer for the Associated Press. Draper has also worked as a staff photographer for The Seattle Times, the Pasadena Star-News and the Albuquerque Tribune. He is currently a freelance corporate, and editorial photographer based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where he lives with his wife and two dogs. He is an obsessive LA Laker fan.
