**ABQ 2026 – Introduction to Power Tools: Introduction to Marketing **

Wednesdays: March 11, and 18 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

This five-session Introduction to Power Tools series is designed to introduce prospective and existing small business owners to the core tools needed to build a sustainable business. Sessions may be taken as a full series or individually, depending on your needs.

The series walks participants through the fundamentals of business planning, pricing, financial tracking, and marketing, with an emphasis on practical application. Each session builds on the previous one, helping entrepreneurs better understand how the different parts of their business fit together.

Session 4: Introduction to Marketing

This session introduces the role marketing plays in growing and sustaining a business. Participants will explore different types of marketing, understand how businesses use them in real-world settings, and begin identifying marketing strategies that align with their own business goals.

Participants will learn to:

  • Understand what marketing is and why it is essential for business growth

  • Identify key differences between traditional and digital marketing

  • Review real-life examples of both marketing approaches used locally

  • Identify their ideal customer or customer persona

  • Develop ideas for applying a blended marketing approach to their own business

Upcoming sessions in the series include:

  • Introduction to Marketing

  • Tying It All Together: Formalizing and Funding

Participants will gain practical tools and guidance they can immediately apply to their business and use to strengthen or refine a realistic business plan.
