Wednesdays: March 4, 11, and 18 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
This five-session Introduction to Power Tools series is designed to introduce prospective and existing small business owners to the core tools needed to build a sustainable business. Sessions may be taken as a full series or individually, depending on your needs.
The series walks participants through the fundamentals of business planning, pricing, financial tracking, and marketing, with an emphasis on practical application. Each session builds on the previous one, helping entrepreneurs better understand how the different parts of their business fit together.
Session 3: Financial Tracking
This session focuses on helping business owners understand how to track and interpret their financial activity. Participants will learn how everyday business transactions translate into key financial statements and how those statements reflect the overall health of a business.
Participants will learn to:
Understand the purpose and components of core financial statements, including the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
Apply the Golden Rules of Accounting to accurately categorize and track business finances
Practice T-Accounts and double-entry accounting through a hands-on exercise
Understand how daily transactions flow into financial statements to reflect overall business performance
This session focuses on understanding how pricing decisions and cash flow impact the financial health of a business. Participants will gain clarity on core financial concepts and learn how to price products or services in a way that supports sustainability and growth.

Participants will gain practical tools and guidance they can immediately apply to their business and use to strengthen or refine a realistic business plan.
