Homeownership for Entrepreneurs

THIS CLASS IS HYBRID MEANING YOU CAN JOIN US IN-PERSON OR VIRTUALLY

Join Jennifer Wilson, Associate Broker with RE/MAX SELECT and Jeree Hindi Tomasi, Senior Loan Officer with New Mexico Mortgage Advisors, to learn about transitioning from W-2 employee to 1099 self-employment for entrepreneurs, and how this impacts homeownership and real estate purchasing. Please note that this class will be held in English.

Objectives:

  • Understand how transitioning from W-2 Employee to Self-Employed impacts lending, homeownership, and buying power.
  • Discuss pathways and opportunities, such as first-time homebuyer programs, available to small business owners, and if it's best to purchase real estate before you make the transition.
  • Learn about how income reporting criteria differs for self-employed individual's vs employees.
  • Discuss the positive impact homeownership by women and entrepreneurs has on families and the larger community.
