Join us in the Studio at WESST for an illuminating discussion with Julian Gowdy, director of “A Time Machine Story” and co-founder of So the Story Begins, a recovery-based film production company located in Albuquerque, as he shows footage from his new films and discusses the trials of recovery, finding his footing in the film industry, and launching a fundraising campaign for his latest documentary film, The He She Bang, a long-running drag show in Madrid, NM.
The program will include an Actor's Studio-style interview session with Julian and interviewer, Stephanie Grilo; a showing of the trailer for "A Time Machine Story" and the full short-film The He She Bang; followed by an audience-led Q&A with Julian.
Learn about Julian's journey navigating independent film in New Mexico and the personal and professional challenges of filmmaking.
There will be a social mixer after the event - so stay and get to know Julian, other filmmakers, local film supporters, and the WESST team.
Stephanie Grilo, interviewer, is an Albuquerque theater and film artist and an educator at CNM and UNM, respectively. She is also the co-director of Coming in Hot! A cold reading series.
