Topic: Managing a Business

Do you have a Hobby or Business?

It’s important to know the difference. For your head, your heart and your taxes!

A key feature of a business is that you do it to make a profit. You have money left over after all the bills are paid.

Don’t delude yourself. You are not in business if making a profit is not one of your goals.

You may just have a very fulfilling hobby. It’s your decision. Profit takes planning. We'll discuss the differences and what you need to do to transition from a hobby to a business.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals.
