Thu 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Topic: Start-up Assistance

Small business entrepreneurship is the idea of opening a business without turning it into a large franchise, store, or having multiple locations. Many indigenous people unknowingly operate a business both on and off the reservation on a daily basis, selling goods and services with locally made products developed at home. A single food stand, housekeeping and janitorial services, landscaping, or small online retail shop to sell your handmade goods would all be an example of small business entrepreneurship. There is a way to take your craft, hobby, or passion to make extra income for you and your family. The first step is learning what a business is and how to properly manage one.

Join the WESST Farmington Women’s Business Center Native Women Rising program on zoom, Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm as we explore virtually an Introduction to Business. This is a great opportunity for Indigenous entrepreneurs that have great business idea, or you are currently selling a product. This class will teach you about the small business development process and the steps to help you move forward with starting and growing your very own business.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities and language assistance services are available for limited English proficient individuals. Please notify Janelle Henry at jhenry@wesst.org when you register for the class, or no later than 24 hours prior to your class, so that WESST can make sure necessary accommodations are available.
